This last Thursday, Febuary 5th, my journalism class and I got the chance to take a field trip to the KBDI Channel 12 studio in north downtown Denver.
It was such an interesting experience! We had a very informative tour of the entire KBDI building, and we were introduced to many of the wondeful staff there! I loved getting to look around the set and see all of the lighting, the cameras, and the round table where countless political debates have taken place... it was so EXCITING!
One of the coolest aspects of this trip for me was thinking back to my childhood, when my mom would turn on the cartoon Arthur, one of my favorite cartoons that Channel 12 broadcasts. I used to watch Arthur EVERYDAY! And now, here I am... an aspiring journalism student taking in all the sites of this studio that I never imagined I would ever get to see. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with professionals there and ask them one-on-one questions about the industry! I can't believe how my life has changed since I've been in college! And to think that this is just one of the many field trips we as a class will get to take! So far we have been given valuable insight from many intelligent and successful professionals within the industry, and it was such a great experience to take the tour of the respected and highly valued KBDI station!
Ok, Professor Degette... Next adventure, PLEASE!
